Established by Jack and Linda Tinsley, the endowment will permanently support Catalyze, a signature experience of the BCSL, which brings together teams of teachers and administrators to develop a plan of action using improvement science tools.

Dr. Tinsley’s career in education spanned the classroom, educational consulting, university instruction, and school leadership. A Baylor alumna, she served as a lecturer during her doctoral fellowship, mentored faculty and students, and developed seminar content for educators and adult learners. Across every role, she cultivated environments marked by encouragement, creativity, and meaningful growth.

Among Dr. Tinsley’s most cherished memories are her relationships with Baylor student-athletes enrolled in her developmental reading courses, where she intentionally fostered a culture of belonging, acceptance, and academic success. Those relationships grew into lifelong friendships, reflecting the heart of her approach to education. Her leadership at Vanguard College Preparatory School further exemplified this calling, as she supported faculty development, celebrated individual student growth, and helped establish enduring traditions that strengthened the school community.

It is her hope that these teachers and administrators, through lifelong learning, will see their plans and improvement process come to fruition to have a meaningful impact on students in schools across the world.

As Scripture affirms in Matthew 25:21–23, Dr. Tinsley’s life and work stand as a testament to faithful service. Through this endowed fund, her legacy will continue to encourage leaders, strengthen schools, and advance Baylor University’s mission of educating men and women for worldwide leadership and service.
